3 Items to describe yourself...

Ryleigh had her first homework assignment. She had to pick 3 things that described her or that she liked and they had to fit into a brown paper bag. This really was a fun project. She took her time deciding and analyzed every item in her room. I thought for sure she would get something that had tinkerbell on it. She actually did a really good job on the project. I seriously didn't help her at all. So here are her 3 items...
1. The 1st thing she picked was the little dog that goes to her playhouse. She said she picked it because it reminds her of Gus and she loves her gussy gus. (thats what she calls him.)
2. The 2nd thing was the pink bunny rabbit. At first I really didn't want her to pick that because I don't like stuffed animals. I asked her what that has to do with her and her reply was "It's pink and thats my favorite color and she has a big bow and I love bows!" So I thought that fits her perfectly!
3. The 3rd thing she picked was her Jesus bracelet. She loves that bracelet and said that she wanted to take it because she loves Jesus.
She is doing really well in school and seems to be enjoying it.

Our Weekend

Friday night Ryleigh stayed with mom so she could go to Carlee's birthday party on Saturday. Tanner wasn't invited because it was an all girl princess party. So Friday night it was just me and the boys. We took Tanner to go see GI Joe at the movies. He did really good the whole time we were there. This is his 3rd movie trip and he has done great all 3 times. Ryleigh doesn't care for the movies to much. She can't sit still long enough! The movie was actually really good.
Saturday morning we got up and cleaned our yard. It looked horrible!! Here is Tanner not helping...
Ryan tore down their swingset which made Tanner very upset until he saw that it was replaced by this...

Who knew that a tire and some rope could make someone so deliriously happy! And the tire was free! Saturday afternoon we met mom to get Ry and then went to play in the water fountains in Malbis. They love it over there! Tuesday night in celebrating the fact that Ryleigh has done so well with school we went ot pump it up. I thought this was a funny picture...

On a completely different note; the main reason I do this blog is because I'm HORRIBLE with baby books, organizing photos or scrap-booking so this is the best way I know to document our lives. The cool thing about blogging is when your done there are tons of companies who turn your blog into an actual book. They format and edit it for you. So one day Ryleigh and Tanner will be able to look back at all of this! I also wanted to tell you that the few companies I've checked into doing this also include comments in the book. So if you ever want to leave a comment about something do so that way they can read it later!

Food Fight!

Wednesday night we had an INSANE FOOD FIGHT at church in the youth for back to school! It was SO messy and gross! We made a lot of food the day before and the day of but kids were welcome to bring whatever they wanted to. We made huge garbage cans of grits, mashed potatoes, and oatmeal. Then we cleaned out every fridge at the church with expired stuff and poured it into the containers. It was DISGUSTING!! We found cottage cheese that was 3 years old!! The containers smelled horrible and a few kids actually threw up on the field! A lot of kids brought syrup, honey, whipped cream, eggs, and any thing else you can think of!
Here is Lindsay stirring the mixture!
The mixture!
Right before we were going out to war!
Charlie's Angels style
Heather and Allie afterwards
Me and Lindsay afterwards. We stunk so bad!

All the kids seemed to have had fun and thankfully no one got hurt! It's great to go to church somewhere where we can let loose and throw food at people in the name of Jesus! Well whatever works to get kids involved!

On your 1st day of preschool

Ryleigh,
On your first day of pre-school I wanted to let you know how proud me and daddy are of you. You are a sweet, sassy, smart little girl who we love to pieces. I know you'll do great in school and I'm so proud of how brave you are about going. I hope you have a wonderful day. I hope you learn a lot but more importantly I pray that you are a light in this dark world. I know school is important but the weeks leading up to school I felt God wanted me to pray for you in other ways. Yes, being smart and good in school is important but this week I prayed for your character, your faith, your decisions, your future husband. I prayed that you will show your love for Jesus with everyone you know even at such a young age. I'm astonished at your faith and love for Jesus. Sometimes you even remind me that I need to stop and just trust God. I think of this verse often when I think of things you say... "Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them, Then he said 'I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 18:2-6 I hope you have a great first day and can't wait to see all the amazing things God has in store for you this year!!

You can't make this stuff up!

Saturday we had a busy day. I worked that morning then we went swimming at our friend Lindsay's house. Gill had came with us and why we were there he mentioned something about his plans for Saturday night included lawnmowers and a dirt track....
I know, I know I'm ashamed to admit that we went to the lawnmower races! Seriously, who thinks of things like this! The part that I am most worried about is the fact that Ryleigh, Tanner and Ryan enjoyed it! I will admit I did enjoy watching the people...you see some interesting people at places like that! This was Ry's favorite lawnmower, probably because it was purple. This one was Tanner's favorite. Ryleigh didn't want to wear a bow and I didn't make her. I figured we were at the lawnmower races, who would notice if she had a bow in or not. She was already extremely overdressed!
They did have one thing that was fun for the kids. During "intermission" (I guess that would be the time when they take a break to gas up and drink up!) they had races for the kids. We were totally unprepared for such an event and had not brought Ryleigh and Tanner's power wheel. All the kids bring them and race around the dirt track. Lucky for the other kids we didn't know to bring ours or they would of been eating Ryleigh and Tanner's dust! But they weren't completely left out. They did have a foot race! Ryleigh and Tanner both participated.
These pictures are from my phone which is why they are terrible. Ryan had to run with Tanner because his pants kept falling off. He should of just let them, I mean we were at the lawnmower races, he would have fit right in! Ryleigh on the other hand left everyone else in the dust. She actually is pretty fast and won for her age group. I actually thought she would get half way and quit because she would of been hot and tired, but she surprised me!

Look how fast she was going!
All and all even though I hate to admit it it was a pretty fun night. I do not plan on making a habit of going though. I thought this last picture of them is cute. Don't you think they kinda look like twins from the back??
And lastly, Wednesday is a big day for us...Ryleigh Claire starts school! I'm a nervous wreck! We went Sunday and met her teacher and she got to walk around and see the school. She is very excited about it. I'm sure she'll do GREAT it's just hard to believe she is growing up so fast! And for those of you wondering, yes she is going to take the ugly lunchbox. I know, I know...what can I say!

Ryleigh Claire

Anyone who knows me for any length of time knows how hard it is to find pants long enough for me! It's an unfortunate problem I inherited that seems to pass Whitney and Lindsey up (man their lucky!!) Anyway I always try to not dry my pants, especially jeans that way they are less likely to shrink. Sometimes in the crazy jumble that is our laundry they get stuck in the drier. When this happens Ryan and I both grab and end of them and literally stretch them out. It's like having a tug of war match! So I say all of that so say this...
The other day we were doing just that so I could wear my dressy jeans to church. Well Monday morning Ryleigh is dead asleep in our bed and I'm putting on my pants. She sets straight up in the bed and looks at me and says...
"Mom, Dads not here so if you need someone to help you stretch your pants, just let me know. I'm here to help."
Then she lays back down and goes right back to sleep! It was hilarious! She is so observant.
And thank you Ryleigh for always being there when I need a helping hand. Even if it is just to stretch my pants!

Tanner Cole

I'm going to start doing random post about the things that come out of these kids mouths. Seriously they keep me rolling with laughter!
Last night Ryan and I were watching a movie and Ryleigh was already asleep in her bed. So Tanner assumes that means he doesn't have to go to sleep! He comes in the living room and is up and down back and forth between the two of us. At one point I looked at him and said:

"Why did God make you so cute! It's to hard to be mean and make you go to bed."
He looks at me and says "God didn't make me Jesus did."
"How do you know that is was Jesus and not God?"
"Because Jesus is God's son so he makes kids and God makes grown ups, Jesus is to little to make a grown up, mom. He just a little kid."

Well thank you Tanner because all these years I've always wondered that.

What have we been up to?

Well while Ryan was gone in the Bahamas we found lots of things to keep us busy. We went to pump it up and played until they couldn't possibly play anymore.
We picked up Tina and Madison from the Airport.
We went to iCommunity at church. Which was our huge outreach event before Kidsfest started on Wednesday night. (I have no idea why that is all underlined)
We ate Watermelon with friends
Or by ourselves!
We played on the water slides. Well actually just Ryleigh because Tanner is to scared to go down them by himself.
We ate snow cones in the sand.
And while I was in Birmingham with work on Wednesday-Friday they went to Kidsfest. I was really sad about missing it but I was also really happy about the break. I was so excited about going to eat at the Cheesecake Factory! It was SO good! I ate there twice! We also ate at Sweet Bones which was also good but I don't like BBQ that much. Kidsfest was a huge success. Ryleigh and Tanner loved it! Have yall ever heard of the Blue Man Group? Well we have the same thing they are just purple. Tanner seriously loved them! He would get so excited every time they came up to perform.
This is them in their Kidsfest shirts before church Sunday morning. It's impossible to get a cute picture of the two of the together!
Sunday after church we went to a birthday party at the Watermelon Patch and they had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures from that.

And I'm sorry to say that yes some of us insist on still rockin the MoHawk!
