Flower Girl

So I mentioned this on Friday but didn't really say to much about it but our friend Courtney asked Ryleigh to be the Flower Girl in her upcoming wedding. Ryleigh of course said she would love to. She also said that she knows the reason why Courtney asked her. When I asked her why she said, "Because all of Courtney's other girls (bridesmaids) are really pretty so she couldn't just have a regular flower girl she had to have a really pretty one!"

Conceited? Just a little.

Courtney has been looking everywhere for a flower girl dress like she likes and couldn't find anything. Finally she decided to just have them made. I nominated Dawn to do it. So this Saturday we went to the fabric store to get everything we needed. 2 hours later we were done! I'm very thankful that Dawn is going to make the dress because I'll come out a lot cheaper.

The dresses are a really light pink and are going to be so cute. The wedding is in March so after the wedding I plan to have the dress monogrammed and use it as her Easter dress as well.

Now I just have to make sure Ryleigh does well in the wedding!

Friday's Letter

Dear Ryan, thank you for informing me this morning that sandwich making is an art. I'm sure Ryleigh looks forward to her Friday lunches more than any other day of the week. Dear Ryleigh, you have fell in love with fixing hair this week. You have learned to do your own ponytail completely on your own and have worn your hair like that to school everyday this week. You have also mastered the art of the rolled under ponytail. I really like the bow you added. Dear Tanner, the above picture is what happens when Ryleigh had already fixed mine and her hair and is still wanting to play "Hair Shop." Bless your heart. Thank you for being a good sport. You are a great little brother! Dear Mom, picking the kids up from you on Monday afternoon and you having a complete dinner cooked for me to take home was AWE to the SOME!! I love you!!! Dear Aunt Lisa, Thank you for stopping by Sunday on your way to church to french braid Ryleigh's hair into pigtails. I agree with her you should totally go work in a braid shop! Dear Winter, I am SERIOUSLY OVER you!! I am so ready for Spring and Summer. Dear Spring Break Group, what do you guys think about instead of going to the beach lets go on a cruise! How fun would that be! I think my only obstacle would be getting Jordan and Evan on board with the idea. Come on guys! It would be SO fun!!! Dear Ryan, I say this often but I feel like you should hear it often. You are the best dad. How many dads make heart shaped sandwiches for their daughters for school?! I hope they both look back on their childhood and and realize just how lucky they are. I love you more than ponytails and heart shaped sandwiches with mayo on both sides!

Paint Party Studios

We had a fun weekend! Friday night I went to my friend Mckenzies birthday party. She had it at Paint Party Studios on Airport. It was a lot of fun!
Me and the Birthday girl!
This is my good friend Courtney. I've been meaning to post that Courtney asked Ryleigh to be the flower girl in her upcoming wedding. Of course Ryleigh said yes. Now let's just pray that she does well! Courtney is also Ryleigh's dance teacher.
Everyone painting away.
Mck's peacock. I loved the peacock!!
I wish I had somewhere to put one.
This is mine and Mrs. Kim's before we got started. They draw the picture on there for you and then you just paint it. They have professional artist who goes around and helps you if you have questions and need help.
Here is my finished product! I think it turned out so good!! There were a ton of really cute pictures to choose from but I had no where to put any of them. This one I plan on hanging in Tanner's room.
I really want to get all my aunts and cousins to go one night. You can take food and just paint away. It was such a fun thing to try!!

Friday's Letter

Dear Ryan, You have worked overtime all week so I feel like I haven't seen you all week. Being a single parent is no fun at all. Looking forward to a fun weekend with you. Dear Ryleigh, the above picture is what happens when your Dad is in charge of getting you off to school. At least you actually went this Friday. Dear Tanner, I've been meaning to post the picture of your black eye all week but we have been so busy. Next time we are playing hide and go seek in the dark I'll remind your Dad that you aren't suppose to jump out and scare people. Dear Aunt Tena, I have on the cardigan you made me today. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. Thank you so much, you are so creative! Dear Family, Ryan and I are planning a trip to the mountains in February...do any of you want to come to? We are planning on getting a cabin and all of that. Mom and Larry are in for sure. I think it will be a lot of fun even though I hate the mountains. Dear 3 day weekend, I am so excited about you!!! Dear ABC Kindergarten, I love the education and love my kids receive from you guys. It really is the best preschool in Mobile. Will you please extend to 12th grade. I'm not excited about public school next year but there aren't any private school in our area that I like. I can't drive an hour to St Pauls everyday. Will you at least consider it?? Registration is this month so I need you to get on that quickly! :) Dear Ryan, while playing hide and go seek in the dark you aren't suppose to jump out and scare people. It leads to crying babies and black eyes. I love you more than roasting mini marshmallows in the fireplace and playing hide and go seek in the dark.

Daddy's New Hunting Buddy

In the past 2 years Ryan has really started hunting. He had always gone every once and a while but lately he has been going a lot. Tanner normally goes with him. A Lot of people can't believe that Tanner goes and is quiet the whole time but he is. He loves going. Ryleigh has been saying that she wants to go. So this past weekend she got her chance.
She was outfitted in all of Tanner's hunting gear and she looked so cute! She said she needed a camo bow so people wouldn't confuse her as a boy.

They left Friday night and got home late Saturday night. Ryan said she did surprisingly well. I was also surprised. This girl does not know how to be quiet for long periods of time. She took her DS though so she had something to do.
I guess for whatever reason if you need to go to the bathroom while hunting you have to go in a bottle. Ryan didn't know what he would do if Ryleigh needed to go so he took a Tupperware container. He and I both explained to her numerous times that if she had to go to the bathroom she would have to go in there. I think she didn't believe us.
Well when she woke up that morning from taking a nap in the shooting house she had to go to the bathroom. Ryan told her what she was going to have to do and she freaked out. She was crying and telling him to stop kidding. The thing about Ryan is that it is hard to tell if he is being serious or not. She thought he was kidding and she was getting really upset. She finally said "Dad, that is ridiculous. I am NOT going to the bathroom in something we eat out of!"
She then decided to just hold it. Ryan said it was hilarious how mad she was getting.
They didn't kill a deer but they did have a lot of fun just hanging out with each other.

All night Saturday night Ryleigh kept telling Tanner she was dad's new hunting buddy. He did not think that was funny. She also said she felt so sorry for me that I had to go shopping with a BOY on Saturday. normally when they go hunting it's our "girl day" as she calls it!

Friday's Letter

Dear Ryan, bike riding 10 miles through downtown Mobile last night seemed like a good idea. You had me outfitted in new under armour tights to keep me nice and toasty. Next time remember gloves. My hands are still recovering from the cold. Dear Aunt Velvet, although my feelings are still hurt, you made up for it with the Chocolate cupcake you bought me from Twist Cupcakes last night. It was so good. You are forgiven! :) However, next time I'm left out it's going to take a dozen of those babies to win me back over. Dear Ryleigh, Friday is the ONE day a week your Dad is responsible for getting you up, dressed, lunch packed and off to school. That is why you may you look back at your childhood and never remember going to school on a Friday. I hope the 3 of you enjoy your day at home while I'm at work. Dear Tan Man, I don't have much to say to you today other than you make me smile. Dear Dawn, next time Ryleigh ask you for a new outfit it's OK to say no. You don't have to go by 2 different ones of what she asked for. Although it is super cute! :) Dear blogging, I didn't do very good at keeping up with you this week. I'm sorry. I'll try to do better next week. Dear Mom, I called you 4 times yesterday and your phone kept going to voicemail. I just thought I should document it on here so when you call and ask "Why haven't you called me??" You will know why. Dear Sunday, I am so glad it's going to rain all day. I'm so looking forward to laying on my couch watching movies all afternoon with my 3 favorite people. Dear Ryan, I love date nights with you that result in good food, good friends, good bike rides and frozen fingers. I love you more than I would have loved to have gloves last night!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning we got up early and went to unwrapping presents! They were very excited about it and I think this was the first year they really "got it."

His Big present...a Youth 223. He was very excited about it!

Check out his hair in this picture! :)

The kids took Ryan on a scavenger hunt all over the house for his present from them. They hid $2 bills everywhere!
after we got done at our house we walked over to Mom's to do Christmas and have breakfast with them. Tanner wanted to take his gun to show La La.
I have no idea why I didn't take more pictures but I didn't. I didn't get any of Mom and Larry...there was a lot going on and I was tired!
Pillow Pets! The one thing they asked for over and over and over again!

After presents everyone came over for breakfast. It used to just be us and Nana but now has turned into almost everyone, which I love!
This is what I look like in the morning before makeup and contacts...scary, I know.

Some of my favorite people!
Who just so happen to be as goofy as me....well at least Whitney is.
After Breakfast we went home and just played with everything and got ready for Ryan's family to come over.

I cooked lunch for Dawn, Amy, Dale and the boys. I had to take a picture of it because it isn't to often that I make a big meal like this. I was very proud of myself!

After we opened presents with them and ate we just hung around the house and played some more. I promise by the end of the day we had played with everything they had gotten. I was exhausted!

That night our friends Lindsey and Gill came over and we hung out and watched 2 movies...well I should say they watched 2 movies while I slept on the couch.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!!
