Lindsey's Shower

We had Lindsey's shower yesterday afternoon and everything turned out so good! There were a TON of people there and she got so many good gifts! Blakeley will not need clothes until she's like 2! I didn't take very many pictures because we were setting up and getting everything ready so Ry and Tan took most of these pictures. Here's the cupcake tower...
Close up...I think it turned out super cute!!
Whitney and I made this sign late Friday night. It was an experience and a lot of fun. I love that girl! These are the presents she had before anyone had even arrived! I think she literally opened presents for a solid hour.
I wish Ry was looking in this picture!

Like I said the kids took 90% of these pics and didn't get the whole wreath, Aunt Cheryl made this for Blakeley's room and her hospital door. It matches her super cute room!
 Ryleigh and Rylee.
 Love these two kids!

My 2 best friends! I'm SOOOOOO Thankful to them and how close we are!

I didn't get any pictures of the drink table or the food table :( I'm a terrible picture taker when I'm having to multi task. I told Ry to get some of some of the guests but I just ended up with 600 pictures of random feet and all of the babies!

Blakeley is a very blessed baby and we can't wait to meet her!!! 8 more weeks, whoop whoop!!! I can't believe I'm finally going to get to be an Aunt! I promise you Blakeley, I'll be way cooler than your Aunt Whitney! :)

Summer Fun!

One thing about staying home for the Summer is I take less and less pictures. Most everything we do everyday includes water and everyone one knows, water and phones don't mix. Today we were suppose to go to a waterpark about a hour away with friends but we got rained out. I cannot stay home with Ry and Tan all day, they'll drive me crazy! So we have to have plans everyday, nothing major, just something to do. Since it was raining we decided to go bowling. The kids had a lot of fun bowling!

Tanner bowled 2 spares in one game and won! I was so proud of him. Ryleigh does not like to lose. She asked who won and I said Tanner. Then she said who won next and I said Karlee and then she said who won next and I said Ryleigh and she was so excited. She knew she lost but when she words it that way it makes her think she won. She is a TERRIBLE sport! TERRIBLE!! After that we ran some errands and went to lunch at Chick Fil A.
We need this rain to go away because of course we have plans to go swimming tomorrow! We also have Lindsey's baby shower on Saturday and we are very very excited!!!!!

Home Sweet Home!

Home Sweet Home!! We are back from an almost 2 week trip to the beach. The first week (the week of the 4th) Ryan took off work and stayed with us and the second week we hung out with friends all week. There were trips to Waterville, Treasure hunts in the sand at The Hangout, Pirate breakfast's, playing in fountains, swimming in the rain, eating lots and lots of froyo, building sand castles, going to bed early, tubing, knee boarding, cookie making, shopping, playing with friends, eating and lots and lots of swimming! It was a really fun 2 weeks and now the worst part, unpacking!

Stay at home mom...

Anyone who knows me knows that I have never wanted to be a stay at home mom. NEVER. It didn't seem fulfilling or fun to me. I liked being able to climb the corporate ladder during the day and be a mom at night. I think I may have felt differently if my kids had to be in day care or if I as always trying to coordinate child care but I was very blessed to have Ryan's mom to keep the kids. She is priceless to us and helped us so much.

Well as most everyone knows by now I left my job at the bank and accepted a job at a mortgage company. There were a lot of things that played into it that I won't go into on here or probably even in person. There was a 6 week span between the 2 jobs that I had to spend with the kids. The timing on everything just worked out so well with Summer starting and the kids being out of school.

So I've had 6 weeks off with them. the longest amount of time I've spent with them since maternity leave. So how do I feel about that??

Well most days I've really enjoyed it. I'm not gonna lie though because I don't believe in EVERY sugar coating motherhood. It's hard and I think we should say it's hard. But I will say that it has been fun!! I've pretty much put everything to the back-burner, including the blog as we have just enjoyed our Summer. We've made countless trips to the library, park, river and friends house. We've had playdates and lunch dates at Chick Fil A and have gone to numerous movies. We've swam and swam and swam and swam. We've spent countless hours in the sun and now they can swim the entire length of the pool by themselves including the deep end. They can swim like fish underwater and can do flips and handstands under water as well. So like I said, we've just been enjoying our Summer.

I say all of that to say this...I think I may postpone the mortgage job and stay home for a while. I'm still not completely sure...I keep going back and forth but I think God has given me this situation and although I may not have understood why everything that happened was happening, I'm just going with the flow because his timing is perfect even if it doesn't match up with ours. This is probably the only time in my life where I'll have the opportunity to stay home. I'll be honest though, I miss the corporate world too. I miss getting dressed up for work everyday and the feeling of accomplishment in being at the top. I was proud of myself and proud of what I had accomplished but I think now is the perfect time to step back and try a new role.

I'm not sure how long it'll last, a few days, a few weeks, a few months or a few years but we'll see. Ryan and I have prayed a lot about it and think that I am right where I need to be for the time being. So if you think about it, our little family would covet your prayers as we make some decisions.

And now one of the perks of staying home...we are headed to the beach for 14 days!!

Ryleigh's Spa

Saturday night Ryleigh decided to open a spa. She named it Ryleigh's Spa. She set up all of her fingernail polish, lit some candles. had some magazines ready, and had soothing music playing. She called mom and Aunt Lisa and told them to come over in 20 minutes because she had a surprise for them.

They were very surprised when they walked in our house and all the lights were off and they could smell the candles. Also please notice the magazines that she sat between them. She was REALLY into this.

After she did theirs they gave her a pedicure. She was on cloud nine that they gave her one and that everyone was playing along with her little game.
Sunday she added signs to all of our doors so as people drove by (because you know we have so many people who drive by) would know that she was open. Lindsey came by and got a pedicure, (not sure why I didn't take a picture of her getting one. Probably because Aunt Lisa was highlighting her hair at the same time and she probably wouldn't have let me take one.) Then Whitney came over for her pedicure appointment. Lucky for Whitney, Ryleigh was a pro by now and was taking it a step further by also making it a salon and tattoo parlor.

She wrapped Whit in a robe and hair towel and treated her to a pedicure first.

She then brought over her book of drawings so Whitney could pick out a tattoo.

Then she styled her hair!
Here was the finished product. Well technically after this picture was taken bright blue eyeshadow was added to Whitney's face. Her entire face. She left our house as an Avatar.
Last night Ryan and Tanner got home from a weekend fishing trip and Ryleigh treated them to pedicures as well. I'm sure they both loved them!
